What is Crazy Canyon Media
I help clients tell their story through feature writing and photography, media plan consulting, branded content, copy editing, copy writing and any other project that requires compelling narrative and a clear voice. Always optimized for SEO, my content balances high-ranking search results with entertaining copy that is anything but click-bait. I write real stories thanks to a background in English literature, journalism and manual labor. I specialize in issues and topics involving hunting, fishing and conservation, but I’ve been known to write just about anything.
My 2024 client list includes the Boone and Crockett Club, Union Sportsmen’s Alliance, Stone Glacier, Trout Unlimited, Wild Sheep Foundation, and Okayest Hunter. In the past few years, I have worked with Outdoor Life, Randy Newberg, Game and Fish magazine, the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, and Montana Outdoors.
To read more articles about everything from tough frontier women to how NOT to get your kids hooked on fishing, just head on over to Crazy Canyon Journal, a website devoted to a life outdoors.
In short, I make content…lots of it. And it’s delicious. If your project requires mastery of the English language, pithy and engaging story-telling, sexy marketing copy, or anything that involves putting words together in a logical, fun and intriguing way, then let’s talk.
I’m a fiend for deadlines and AP style. I daydream of projects that require meticulous copy writing, copy editing, web copy, email campaigns and promotional materials. Need a report on a tight deadline? Be still my beating heart.
Background
I’ve been a freelance writer for more than 20 years, and a full-time editor for just as long. For nearly 15 years, I worked as the hunting editor and video producer for Bugle magazine with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF). In graduate school, I was the editor of Camas magazine and a writing tutor at the University of Montana. As an undergraduate, I was the features editor at the Exponent.
I've also installed irrigation systems, dug trails as a member of Americorps, and washed more than my share of dishes while in high school. In short, I enjoy working. A little weird, I know.
